Our patented Base Isolation Device ("BID") separates earthquake ground motion from the supported equipment or artwork. MEET THE INVENTOR
Ara Mehran, the young inventor of the BID, lives in California, the earthquake center of the United States. From an early age, he was exposed to structural engineering and earthquake protection. Major earthquakes not only cause severe damage to buildings, they result in collapse and destruction of free-standing hospital equipment, communication devices and computers in emergency centers, and precious artwork in museums. Ara designed the BID to preserve history and assist the community after an earthquake disaster.
